DFB-Pokal: Jena wants to investigate possible incidents after the game

FC Carl Zeiss Jena wants to investigate reports of incidents after the cup game against VfL Wolfsburg. This was announced by a spokesman on Saturday evening. According to information from the German Press Agency, after the Bundesliga team's happy 1-0 victory in Jena in the first round of the DFB Cup, there were scuffles. It was initially unclear whether supporters of the Thuringian regional league and some VfL players on the way from the cabin to the team bus were actually involved.

Wolfsburg coach Nico Kovac expressed his surprise at the press conference after the game on Saturday evening. "I'm hearing that for the first time, I can't say anything because I haven't seen it personally," said Kovac, adding: "If it had been, then of course it's not what we as football fans, football fans or football fanatics do want to see. And those responsible for that will certainly be punished accordingly."

The tradition-steeped Ernst-Abbe-Sportfeld in Jena resembled a major construction site due to the conversion. Therefore, only two of the planned four grandstands were usable. The spectator capacity was reduced to 6100 spectators for the first round match in the DFB Cup. Around 600 fans came from Wolfsburg.
