Electronics: Samsung with higher profit thanks to strong chip business

Thanks to continued strong demand for chips for data centers, electronics giant Samsung earned significantly more in the second quarter of 2022 than a year earlier. The surplus increased by 15 percent to 11.1 trillion won (about 8.34 billion euros), as the South Korean group announced. Sales climbed 21 percent to 77.2 trillion won (58 billion euros).
