Expert recommends: Zero alcohol levels: These wines are great even without alcohol - and even connoisseurs like them

It's never been easier to drink more mindfully because there are so many good alternatives to alcohol. Of course, in the ever-growing range of great non-alcoholic beverages, there is also wine. Many non-alcoholic wines can taste like grape juice or vinegar, but there are some great zero proof versions too. My recommendation: the "Eins-Zwei Zero Line" from the Leitz winery.

What makes them special:

The Leitz winery in the Rüdesheim mountains has been producing wines of the highest quality for centuries and is known all over the world. The estate's non-alcoholic wines benefit from this know-how and a new, patented technology for dealcoholization - vacuum distillation. This technique removes the alcohol from the wine in a slow and gentle way, preserving the aroma and taste of the wine - without alcohol.

Leitz winemakers use the same base to create their non-alcoholic wines as they use in their regular wines, with ingredients carefully selected so that the end result is a non-alcoholic wine that is very close to the original.

One-Two-Zero Riesling

Made from 100 percent home-grown Riesling grapes, this non-alcoholic Riesling is light and refreshing. With notes of citrus, red apple and lime, it is aromatic with a nice dry finish and the body of a quality white wine - a rarity in non-alcoholic wines.

One-Two-Zero Rose

A crisp and fruity summer rosé with notes of rhubarb, rosehip and raspberries. It has a nice acidity that makes it taste more like a "true rosé" softened by the fruity notes. A great rosé alternative that has the structure, body and aroma of a traditional rosé. A perfect drink for the summer dinner party.

Let it sparkle!

The Leitz Winery also offers sparkling versions of these two wines. One-Two-Zero Riesling Sparkling and One-Two-Zero Rosé Sparkling. Both are perfectly sparkling, light, aromatic and with the nice dry finish one would expect from a premium sparkling wine. Perfect for making non-alcoholic spritzes with an Aperol alternative (read more here) or enjoying neat at celebrations.
