The peak of heat reaches its peak this Friday with thermometers above 30 degrees in more than half of Spain. The prediction of the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) indicates that temperatures will rise in the Balearic Islands and inland areas of the eastern peninsula, but will drop in the north of Galicia, the Cantabrian area and almost all of Extremadura.
Temperatures will be between 10 and 15 degrees higher than normal in much of the interior of the peninsula, and even between 15 and 20 degrees higher than usual in the northeast of Granada.
Among the provincial capitals, it will be hotter in Córdoba and Granada (37 degrees), Seville (36) and Albacete, Ciudad Real and Jaén (35). Instead, it will soften more in Santander (20), A Coruña and San Sebastián (20), and Oviedo (21).
Meteorology has activated the second yellow warning - risk for outdoor activities - this year due to heat in Spain, since it expects La Mancha to reach at least 36 degrees. The first warning took place on Thursday in the Cordovan countryside, where it exceeded 38 degrees.
On the other hand, the sun will continue to shine in most of Spain, with few exceptions. Thus, cloudy intervals are expected to increase to clouds in the north of Galicia and the Cantabrian area, with a probability of weak rainfall.
In the afternoon, evolutionary cloudiness will develop in the rest of the peninsula, with the possibility of some weak and isolated showers or storms in the Cantabrian Mountains, the Pyrenees, the Iberian System and the southeastern mountains.
The Balearic Islands will have intervals of medium and high clouds, and the Canary Islands, cloudy intervals in the north of the islands and clear skies in the south.
There is a probability of coastal fog in the center and east of the Cantabrian Sea, and morning fog is not ruled out in the interior of Galicia. There may also be some haze around Alborán.
