Hesse: 30-year-old insulted and injured police officers

Frankfurt / Main (dpa / lhe) - A woman insulted and injured police officers in Frankfurt. A policewoman and a policeman were injured and later treated in hospital, officials reported on Sunday.

The 30-year-old is said to have spat on passers-by on a bridge and prevented road users from continuing their journey. The police officers who were summoned found the woman sitting on the sidewalk late Saturday evening. When spoken to, police said she jumped up and tried to flee.

A police officer held her, after which the accused tried to hit her with her fist. Only together did the patrol car crew manage to bring the struggling woman to the ground.

"The 30-year-old managed to first press the officer's head onto the asphalt and then kick her in the head," the police report said. With the help of other radio patrols, the woman was pinned down and arrested. There were "various insults and threats".
