Friedrichsdorf (dpa / lhe) - Aquaplaning on the federal highway 5 near Friedrichsdorf led to a car accident with two minor injuries. The driver and his occupant were taken to hospitals after the single-vehicle accident on Saturday evening in the Hochtaunus district, the police said on Sunday.

The driver had previously lost control of the vehicle in heavy rain and on a wet road between the Friedberg and Bad Homburger Kreuz junctions, it said. The car then left the road, got into a ditch, rolled over and finally landed on the roof. Investigations into the exact cause of the accident are ongoing.
