Limburg (dpa / lhe) - Because of a burning semi-trailer, the A3 in the direction of Cologne between the Limburg-South and Limburg-North junctions was temporarily closed. The machine burned down completely on Tuesday evening, the 39-year-old driver suffered minor injuries from the smoke, the police said.
According to the information, the man was initially made aware of a defect in his semitrailer by other road users. However, by the time he noticed the flames in the engine area, it was already too late to try to put them out.
The property damage is reported to be around 200,000 euros. For the extinguishing work, the A3 towards Cologne was blocked for about an hour. The cleaning of the road could continue into the night, it was said in the evening.
