Hesse: Care facilities receive 6.1 million euros in emergency aid

Wiesbaden (dpa/lhe) - The care facilities in Hesse have called up 6.1 million euros from the state's second Corona emergency aid program, which is worth 10 million euros. According to the Ministry of Social Affairs, the money should be used to compensate for loss of income that was not covered by the federal care rescue package.

"We supported the care facilities quickly and effectively in a difficult time," said Minister of Social Affairs Kai Klose (Greens) on Wednesday in Wiesbaden. The new Hessian State Office for Health and Care, which will start operating on January 1, is to check whether the money is being used properly.

In 2021, the state government had supported day care facilities with an initial emergency program, which at times had to completely cease operations. The second program supported care facilities that had to take particularly intensive protective measures during the pandemic. Carriers could submit a corresponding application until November 15th.
