Hesse: Minister Beuth does not want to run for state parliament again

Wiesbaden (dpa/lhe) - Interior Minister Peter Beuth (CDU) no longer wants to run for a mandate in the state parliament in the upcoming state elections in 2023. He explained this in a letter to the CDU district association Rheingau-Taunus. After more than two decades as a member of parliament, it is time to give a new candidate the opportunity to "introduce his own ideas and set his own impulses," it says. Several media had previously reported on Beuth's announcement on Monday. Beuth has been a member of the state parliament since 1999.
