Hesse: passenger dies in accident - driver drunk

Langen (dpa/lhe) - A 21-year-old passenger died in a traffic accident in Langen. The 20-year-old driver had previously lost control of his car under the influence of alcohol and got into the ditch of an S-Bahn line next to the road, the police in Offenbach said. The 21-year-old suffered fatal injuries in the accident early on Sunday morning and had to be rescued from the vehicle by the fire brigade using heavy equipment. According to the police, the driver was taken to a clinic with minor injuries, where the public prosecutor ordered him to give a blood sample. An expert should now clarify the exact course of the accident.
