Wiesbaden (dpa/lhe) - The Hessian head of the Office for the Protection of the Constitution, Robert Schäfer, is to become the new state police chief. Interior Minister Peter Beuth (CDU) proposed Schäfer as Roland Ullmann's successor. The proposal is still subject to the cabinet decision, the Ministry of the Interior announced in Wiesbaden on Tuesday. The former state police chief Ullmann retired in September.
