Wiesbaden (dpa/lhe) - For better communication in the event of a disaster, Hesse wants to introduce state-wide uniform software for the management staff. The computer program is intended for the disaster control staff in the districts and urban districts, regional councils and the Ministry of the Interior, as a spokesman for the Ministry of the Interior in Wiesbaden explained. A response from the ministry to a parliamentary question from the SPD parliamentary group shows that the country is currently exploring offers on the market as to which software is suitable.
With the introduction of the national program, communication between the civil protection authorities should be simplified, as the ministry spokesman explained. Among other things, this involves smooth handovers to the subsequent staffing at shift changes and rapid communication between the crisis management teams. In addition, the staff software should display the data relevant to the deployment from different sources so that everyone can call them up and provide a uniform evaluation.
The state had already declared in 2017 its willingness to provide state-wide staff software, the ministry said. However, the prerequisite was that all civil protection authorities made a binding declaration that they would also use them. According to a survey by the district council, in January of this year all 21 districts gave their approval.
In the current market exploration, the systems that are already being used in the state administration would first be considered, the ministry explained. The compatibility of a national staff software with the existing police systems is one of many factors that are important when purchasing.
