About a year ago, Elliot Page revealed that he was trans. Now comes another big step for the actor: a new photo in the passport. "I never thought I would love a passport photo," he says happily. Fans and colleagues congratulate, for example with: "It's illegal to look so good!"

For actor Elliot Page it is probably another milestone since coming out as transgender. The 35-year-old had a new photo taken for his passport and proudly shares it with his around six million followers on Instagram.

To the portrait photo, which shows the actor in a simple black T-shirt and with a silver chain around his neck, he writes: "I never thought I would love a passport photo." The fans of "The Umbrella Academy" star seem to feel the same way. There are already over a million likes for the photo.

"That's a passport photo?! Sir, it's illegal to look that good!" A fan summarized it in a comment. But some colleagues also congratulate Page on the successful picture. "A beautiful photo for even more beautiful journeys," said The Handmaid's Tale director Reed Morano. Fellow actress Rumer Willis captioned the image with flame emojis and a heart-eyed smiley.

Page revealed more than a year ago that he is trans. In a statement on Twitter, the actor, who was nominated for an Oscar in 2020, said: "I cannot express how extraordinary it feels to finally love myself for who I am and to strive for my authentic self." The trans community has inspired him endlessly, Page said.

Since coming out, Page has used his fame to help young transgender people and spread awareness about the issue. In interviews with Oprah Winfrey or "Vanity Fair" he lets the world participate in his personal journey, his biography "Pageboy" is scheduled to appear in 2023.

In March 2022 it became known: The series character of Elliot Page in "The Umbrella Academy" will also appear as a transgender in the third season of the successful Netflix series.
