"I'm Sorry, John": Andreas Türck celebrates his comeback as a singer

Around the turn of the millennium, Andreas Türck was one of the best-known TV faces in Germany. But then he withdrew from the limelight. After a long time he is sending a sign of life again - not as a moderator, but as a singer.

His comeback fits well with the 90s retro wave: the former talk show host Andreas Türck has recorded a single for the first time in 20 years. His new song is called "I'm Sorry, John", as the 54-year-old announced.

The song can now be found on all popular streaming services. He wanted to draw attention to the fact that there must be a better world for children, says Türck: "We're running out of time. We have to act now to leave our children a better world. And that's not just a line in mine lyrics, but my firm conviction. I want to make a contribution to this with the new single and my popularity - because every small step counts."

The Hamburg-based Türck wrote and produced the single together with the music producer and Echo award winner Henrik Menzel, who worked with Udo Lindenberg, the Princes and Till Brönner, among others. In the song "I'm Sorry, John" Türck strikes a thoughtful note. He sings in English: "We're running out of time - but I know that we can make it somehow".

The impetus for the project was the 50th anniversary of John Lennon's peace anthem "Imagine", says Türck. He wanted to apologize with "I'm Sorry, John" for the worrying state of the world. With his son, to whom he dedicates the new song - and with his idol John Lennon.

Türck is best known for his ProSieben talk show of the same name, which aired from 1998 to 2002. But he also moderated many other formats, such as "Lovestories" or "Abenteuer Leben". According to his own statements, he led a total of 1300 TV programs.

Türck has also tried his hand at singing. After the turn of the millennium, for example, he released the songs "Shining Star" and "Don't Say That You Love Me". For several years he has been particularly active as an entrepreneur and is also involved in the areas of sustainability and environmental protection.
