"I wouldn't repeat it": Bernhard Brink rows back

We don't know if he still wants someone in Russia "to hit the poop". But at least with a view to his attack on the Minister of Health, pop singer Bernhard Brink is now rowing back. That was an "escalation owed to emotion".

Bernhard Brink probably didn't expect to trigger such an avalanche when he freaked out while recording the TV show "Schlagernacht des Jahres". But once the genie is out of the bottle, it's hard to get it back there. And so recordings of the scene spread like a whirlwind on social networks.

With some distance to the events, the 70-year-old seems to be uncomfortable with his tirade in front of numerous fans on stage, at least in part. In any case, he is looking for a justification in a conversation with the "t-online" portal. "It was in the middle of a long working day at around 6 p.m. I had already had a performance in Magdeburg and later in the evening a concert with the band in Eisenhüttenstadt," says Brink.

With a view to his attack on Health Minister Karl Lauterbach, the singer also rowed back. "Of course, one of the tasks of a health minister is to point out dangers. In this respect, my statement is a spontaneous exaggeration due to emotion, which I would not repeat," says Brink now.

The pop star, on the other hand, once again underlines his anger at Russia's President Vladimir Putin. Finally, it is clear "that Putin alone is responsible for the war of aggression and thus for the atrocities." However, Brink leaves open whether he still wishes the ruler in the Kremlin a premature death. Apparently he wasn't asked about it either.

When recording the broadcast of Rundfunk Berlin-Brandenburg (rbb), Brink had pulled the leather relatively suddenly between two songs. "This shitty Corona," he ranted. And: "Whenever I see the Lauterbach, it upsets me."

Without naming Putin, Brink also took on the Russian president with drastic words in his angry speech: "And this little asshole in Russia should be hit when he poops."

When the "Schlagernacht des Jahres" is broadcast, there will of course be nothing more to see of all of this. The rbb explained that interim announcements by the interpreters fell victim to the cut.
