The Councilor for Culture of the PP in the City Council of Villafranca del Bierzo (León) Juan Ransilla was arrested last Saturday night accused of attack and resistance to authority after an incident that occurred in the local bar.
According to sources from the Armed Institute, the agents wanted to close the bar because it was exceeding opening hours, but Ransilla confronted them and began a struggle until he was reduced.
The mayor spent the night detained at the Civil Guard premises and must appear before the judicial authority in the near future.
The arrest was recorded on video by the people who accompanied Juan Rasilla at the moment when, already outside the establishment, two civil guards tried to stop the councilor, who continually tried to resist, reports Europa Press.
In the video, later distributed through social networks, one of the defendant's friends can be heard insistently telling the mayor to be "calm" because "everything is recorded" and that the Civil Guard agents are going to "fall hair".
"You are becoming like the ortho, who is a councilor", comments the person who is making the recording, while urging Rasilla to "let them abuse" the agents who, during the struggle, demand the councilor to "let go of the shackle" in order to be stopped.
