"Man with Sti(h)l": The network mocks Jens Lehmann

The news that former national soccer player Jens Lehmann is said to have attacked a neighbor's garage with a chainsaw is curious. So odd that it also inspires numerous Twitter users to make fun of it creatively.

It is well known that Jens Lehmann is not a child of sadness. The fact that he is said to have even grabbed a chainsaw to tackle a neighbor's unwelcome garage construction is the pinnacle of all the antics surrounding the ex-goalkeeper of the German national soccer team.

According to the latest information from the "Bild" newspaper, the 52-year-old does not want to let the allegations sit. Accordingly, he has now filed a complaint against the police because they are said to have misrepresented what happened in the neighborhood dispute. However, this does not protect Lehmann from mockery and malice on the Internet. For example, numerous Twitter users let their creativity run wild to make fun of the "chainsaw massacre".

The comparison of the action attributed to Lehmann with various horror films is of course all too obvious. It doesn't matter whether it's about "Texas Chainsaw Massacre", "The German Chainsaw Massacre" or the strip "The Shining", although Jack Nicholson once set off with an ax in it, of course, to be precise.

Some people claim that Lehmann didn't just unpack the tools at his neighbor's. After all, you can also start something constructively with a chainsaw.

Others claim they have security camera footage during or shortly after the attack on a neighbor's garage.

Looking at earlier Lehmann pods, but also at a well-known manufacturer of chainsaws, some come to the conclusion that the ex-soccer player finally presented himself as a "man with a stick".

Lehmann's football career was yesterday. But with the use of chainsaws, he could well have qualified for other sports, others speculate.

Perhaps Lehmann is only drawn to "Wetten, dass..?" - in any case, he already had the right bet in his luggage.

Moderator Jan Köppen, on the other hand, thinks that the story has not yet been told and warns us to wait for the end first.

Lehmann's scandals in the past also included homophobic statements in connection with the coming out of his former teammate Thomas Hitzlsperger in the DFB team. It can therefore be doubted that the following picture is a secret recording of the ex-keeper.

Some Twitter users have also pulled out a few older clips about Jens Lehmann. Not even he believes that he caused goosebumps with the chainsaw action.

Ex-soccer player Axel Kruse's reaction to an interview about Lehmann's ability to generate enthusiasm in others is always nice to see.

In view of the chainsaw incident, a few users are apparently also concerned about security in this country. Accordingly, they appeal to rapper Smudo as an investor in the Luca app, but also to the federal government.

Finally, another user is even worried that Lehmann could get his hands on something other than "just" a chainsaw.

It remains to be hoped that Lehmann, too, can take the malice with some humour. Of course, he is not entirely innocent of the fact that this mockery now overtakes him. In the past he has simply sawed his image himself a few too often for that.
