Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania: Accident after a right-of-way error: 14 injured in one week

Schaprode/Neubrandenburg (dpa/mv) - In Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, several people were again injured in an accident after a right-of-way error. As a police spokesman said on Friday, a 32-year-old crashed his car into oncoming traffic on Thursday when turning left on the island of Rügen. The collision occurred not far from Trent near Schaprode (West Pomerania-Rügen). The person who caused the accident and the 60-year-old driver of the other car and his passenger came to hospitals by ambulance. The damage was given as 25,000 euros.

It was the sixth accident of this kind within a week in the north-east after a right-of-way error. Despite the summer heat, the police warned the drivers to pay more attention. In the previous days, eleven people had been injured in accidents after similar priority errors in Bansin on Usedom, Greifswald, Waren, Ribnitz-Damgarten and near Dabel (Ludwigslust-Parchim), including cyclists and motorcyclists.
