Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania: district boards of the CDU and FDP for Ebert as a mayor candidate

Rostock (dpa/mv) - The board members of the CDU and FDP have jointly voted in favor of the director of the state riot police office, Michael Ebert, as a candidate for the upcoming mayoral election in Rostock. Both bodies made a corresponding recommendation on Monday evening. The district associations of Christian Democrats and Liberals make the final decision on the nomination on August 19.

Ebert is the ideal mayoral candidate for Rostock, said the district chairman of the Rostock CDU and member of the state parliament Daniel Peters. "His determination, determination and ability to bring people from different backgrounds together will win voters over."

Ebert used to be the head of the Rostock police inspection. He recently signaled his willingness to run. A new mayor will be elected on November 13th in the largest city in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. The Greens, SPD and Left are each sending women into the race for the top post in City Hall.
