Public prosecutors determined: 27-year-old Berliner choked on porridge – nurse under suspicion

After the death of a 27-year-old in an apartment in Berlin, her nurse was arrested. After the autopsy of the young woman's body, the investigators are assuming a fatal injury, as the police and prosecutors announced on Monday.

The woman in need of care choked on porridge, said a spokesman for the public prosecutor's office. This was revealed by an autopsy.

The 45-year-old nurse was arrested in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania early Monday afternoon and should now be brought to Berlin. On Tuesday it should be checked whether the public prosecutor's office will apply for an arrest warrant to be issued against her.

According to the spokesman, the 27-year-old was found dead in the nurse's apartment on Sunday. The woman was housed there for around a week and should have been brought back last Friday. When this didn't happen, the parents went to the nurse's apartment and found the body.
