Greifswald (dpa/mv) - The fire in a terraced house in Greifswald, in which the 85-year-old resident died on Sunday, was caused by an additional heater. This was the result of the investigation of the incident by the fire investigator, as the police in Anklam announced on Monday. Witnesses noticed the fire on Sunday afternoon. Firefighters found the corpse of the resident, who was believed to have died of smoke inhalation, in a room in the house. The firefighting operation lasted several hours. The damage was estimated at 250,000 euros. The man lived there alone.
