Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania: knife attack on 16-year-olds: charges against trio

Neubrandenburg (dpa/mv) - Almost four months after a life-threatening knife attack on a youth in Neubrandenburg, charges have been brought against three suspects. The 17, 20 and 22-year-old men are accused of attempted manslaughter, a spokesman for the public prosecutor's office said on Monday. On the evening of November 1, 2022, a 16-year-old was fatally injured in the eastern part of Neubrandenburg by knife wounds in the stomach and upper body. Passers-by found the victim, who was immediately operated on and survived.

The detectives were able to track down the fleeing young men the next morning through tips from witnesses and secured tracks. They come from Neubrandenburg and were taken into custody. Disputes between the parties involved were given as the reason for the dispute in advance, without going into more detail with regard to the investigation. The trial is to take place before the youth chamber of the Neubrandenburg district court.
