Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania: left-wing faction advises on retreat about next goals

Schwerin (dpa/mv) - The left-wing faction in the Schwerin state parliament wants to take stock of its traditional winter retreat from Tuesday (2.30 p.m.) in Banzkow (Ludwigslust-Parchim district) after a good year of government participation and stake out the next goals. "The guiding principle is the implementation of the coalition agreement. We will be measured by that," said parliamentary group leader Jeannine Rösler before the start of the three-day consultation. The projects that have already been implemented include the highly symbolic revaluation of Women's Day on March 8th, which is being celebrated as a public holiday for the first time in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania this year. To this end, the parliamentary group has designed a traveling exhibition that will be shown in Banzkow for the first time.

One of the outstanding projects of the red-red coalition is the revision of the municipal constitution. The members of the left-wing faction want to discuss this on Wednesday with Interior Minister Christian level from the coalition partner SPD. The meeting should also deal with the problems of districts and municipalities with the accommodation of refugees. There has been massive criticism of the state government's actions.
