Rostock-Laage (dpa/mv) - In the evening sky over Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania it will be loud in some regions from Monday: For almost a week, fighter pilots from Air Force Squadron 73 "Steinhoff" in Rostock-Laage practice flying at night. As the management of the air base announced, flight movements and the associated additional noise must be expected every day up to and including Thursday until 11 p.m. A spokesman for the Air Force said night flights are an indispensable part of pilot training and are necessary for acquiring and maintaining flight licenses, appealing for understanding among the population. Flight movements would be limited to the minimum required. As can be seen from the air base's website, the main task of Tactical Air Force Squadron 73 "Steinhoff" is to train German and Austrian Eurofighter pilots.
