Schwerin (dpa / mv) - Young researchers in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania should be better supported in the future. The state government approved a draft law by Science Minister Bettina Martin (SPD) on Tuesday, as the press office of her ministry announced. The planned State Graduate Funding Act should therefore give young researchers higher grants, more time for their projects and less bureaucracy. More young artists than before should also be able to benefit from a Caspar David Friedrich grant.
The planned new funding is a building block to strengthen Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania as a science location in the competition for top young talent. The draft is now going to the association hearing.
