Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania: State government presents autumn-winter plan against pandemic

Schwerin (dpa / mv) - Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania is preparing for a new wave of corona infections in the coming months. The autumn-winter plan with protective measures to contain the pandemic is to be discussed and decided in the cabinet on Tuesday (11 a.m.). After that, Minister of Health Stefanie Drese (SPD) wants to present the strategy paper to the public in Schwerin.

The minister had commissioned a Corona expert council made up of renowned scientists in the country to develop suitable protective mechanisms. Together with the specifications in the new Federal Infection Protection Act, the proposals should now result in a package of measures. Drese always emphasizes that you have to prepare for many scenarios and that you need a large set of tools in order to be able to react in a targeted manner and counteract a possible further wave of infection. Massive contact restrictions and forced closures should not exist again.
