Menzlin/Neubrandenburg (dpa/mv) - After a truck caught fire on the premises of a company in Menzlin (Vorpommern-Greifswald district), the police are investigating suspected arson. The volunteer fire brigade was on site with 27 emergency services on Saturday night to extinguish the fire in a tractor that was reported around 1 a.m., the police headquarters in Neubrandenburg said. Accordingly, the timely extinguishing work was able to prevent the flames from spreading to the semi-trailer.
Because of the suspicion of arson, the criminal investigation service from Anklam is now investigating. In the course of the day, a fire investigator should be called in, it was said. The police estimate the damage at around 25,000 euros.
