North Rhine-Westphalia: Attacks on the fire brigade on New Year's Eve: Suspect determined

Bonn (dpa / lnw) - After the attacks on emergency services on New Year's Eve in Bonn, the police have identified a ninth suspect. Investigators found and asked the 34-year-old in his apartment in the Hardtberg district, the police said on Friday. The suspect suffered minor injuries during the attack. The man, who had previously been conspicuous for violent crime, was taken to the police station for further police action and then released.

On New Year's Eve, a group of people set fire to garbage containers and then threw stones and firecrackers at firefighters and police officers. At the beginning of January, the police had already identified eight suspects aged between 16 and 19. They are said to have arranged the attacks in a chat group.
