North Rhine-Westphalia: Black ice in the Sauerland leads to accidents

Schmallenberg/Eslohe (dpa/lnw) - Slippery roads resulted in traffic accidents in Sauerland on Saturday. In Schmallenberg, a 32-year-old driver drove his car off the snow-covered road and crashed into an oncoming tractor, the police reported on Sunday. Two occupants in the 32-year-old's car were slightly injured.

A little later in Eslohe, a 43-year-old man skidded in his car on a slippery road and collided head-on with a car from the opposite direction. Its 31-year-old driver had driven in the middle of the road because of the snowfall. She suffered minor injuries, police said.
