Dortmund (dpa / lnw) - A car collided with a tram in Dortmund. Four people were injured on Saturday evening. A 26-year-old driver was traveling with two passengers parallel to the moving tram, the police said. At 8:45 p.m., the man then lost control of the car for reasons that are still unknown and crashed into the train. The 51-year-old tram driver was no longer able to prevent the collision despite emergency braking.

According to the announcement, the 26-year-old was trapped in his car and had to be freed by the fire department. The man and a 21-year-old passenger were taken to the hospital with serious injuries. A 22-year-old woman sitting in the back seat of the car suffered minor injuries. The tram driver suffered a shock. According to the police, the property damage is around 7000 euros.
