North Rhine-Westphalia: car crashes into tree: on-board system alerts rescue workers

Gladbeck (dpa / lnw) - A 28-year-old driver drove his car into a tree in Gladbeck (Recklinghausen district) and was seriously injured. He went off the road at high speed in a curve on Saturday night and landed in a forest, according to the fire brigade. The vehicle's automatic accident report sent a so-called eCall and alerted the emergency services. According to the fire department, the driver was already outside of his car when emergency services arrived. He was taken to a hospital.
