North Rhine-Westphalia: Corona incidence in NRW is 255.8

Düsseldorf (dpa / lnw) - The Robert Koch Institute (RKI) gave the corona incidence for North Rhine-Westphalia as 255.8 on Thursday morning. The number of new corona infections reported within seven days per 100,000 inhabitants in NRW is thus above the national average (199.2). A week ago (November 9th), the incidence in NRW was significantly higher at 375.0.

In the most populous federal state, 9,765 (out of 33,306 nationwide) confirmed new infections and 29 deaths (out of 162 nationwide) in connection with the corona virus were added within 24 hours.

However, the information only provides a very incomplete picture of the number of infections. Experts have been assuming for some time that there will be a large number of cases not recorded by the RKI - mainly because not all infected people have a PCR test done. Only positive PCR tests count in the statistics. In addition, late registrations or transmission problems can lead to a distortion of individual daily values.
