North Rhine-Westphalia: Corona incidence in NRW is 342.9

Düsseldorf (dpa / lnw) - According to the Robert Koch Institute, the corona incidence in North Rhine-Westphalia was 342.9 on Wednesday. That was higher than a week earlier, when 279.8 new infections per 100,000 people were reported in seven days. The NRW indicator continued to be higher than the national average, which was 250.7 on Wednesday. Within 24 hours, 15,730 confirmed new infections and 50 deaths related to the corona virus were added in NRW. The incidence in NRW was highest in Minden-Lübbecke with 577.1 and lowest in Olpe with 141.2.

However, the information only provides a very incomplete picture of the number of infections. Experts have been assuming for some time that there will be a large number of cases not recorded by the RKI - mainly because not all infected people have a PCR test done. Only positive PCR tests count in the statistics. In addition, late registrations or transmission problems can lead to a distortion of individual daily values.
