Krefeld (dpa / lnw) - At the port in Krefeld, a crane collapsed while unloading a cargo ship, the crane driver died. The pulpit in which the 33-year-old was sitting fell down between the ship and the shore, according to the fire department. The Krefeld man died immediately and had to be rescued. The fire brigade and rescue service were also on duty from the water side from the DLRG and DRK water rescue service. The Occupational Health and Safety Office and the water protection police in Duisburg began investigating the cause of the accident.
