North Rhine-Westphalia: fall eight meters deep: man seriously injured

Wuppertal (dpa / lnw) - A man fell down an eight-meter-deep steep slope in downtown Wuppertal and was seriously injured. The incident happened on the edge of the Wupper next to a suspension railway station, the police said. How the fall came about was still unclear early Wednesday morning. The 47-year-old was unconscious after the fall on Tuesday morning and had to be pulled up the slope by rescue workers using a special rope construction.
