North Rhine-Westphalia: freight train collides with a minibus: 40,000 euros damage

Minden (dpa / lnw) - A minibus stuck on the track bed was hit by a freight train in Minden. The 60-year-old driver wanted to park on a street running parallel to the railway tracks and accidentally got onto the tracks, the police said on Friday. The woman then decided to get help. "When she returned, the woman from Minden was shocked to find that there had already been an accident with a train," the police statement said.

Accordingly, the 48-year-old train driver was only able to see the obstacle at the last moment on Thursday evening in the dark and drizzle. According to police, no one was injured in the collision. Another parked car was damaged. The police estimated the damage at around 40,000 euros.
