North Rhine-Westphalia: House of History tours the country: start in Aachen

Visits to all 53 districts and cities are planned: The House of History NRW introduces itself throughout the state. The museum organizers not only want to show objects with a history, but also want to take something away with them.

Aachen (dpa / lnw) - The House of History North Rhine-Westphalia goes on a journey with a "MuseumMobil". In the next few years, the exhibition, housed in a container, is to make a stop in all 53 districts and urban districts of the state. The rolling museum in Aachen makes the first stop. The NRW House of History is presenting the project today. The small museum in the center of Aachen is open to visitors from October 14th to 23rd. The container museum and the nearby city museum, the Center Charlemagne, contain objects with stories from all parts of the country, from the founding of the country to the present day. Eyewitnesses also have their say.

But the house doesn't just want to introduce itself, it also wants to acquire new objects: a "collective Saturday" is planned for October 22, to which things that have to do with the history of NRW can be brought along.

The House of History NRW is a museum under construction. The building intended for this purpose on the banks of the Rhine near the state parliament in Düsseldorf will be renovated in the coming years.
