North Rhine-Westphalia: Incidence in NRW at 512.3

Düsseldorf (dpa / lnw) - The Robert Koch Institute (RKI) gave the seven-day incidence for North Rhine-Westphalia on Wednesday as 512.3. The number of registered new corona infections per 100,000 inhabitants has thus tended to decrease recently: On Wednesday of the previous week (July 20th), the value was still 597.9. Nationwide, the RKI registered an incidence of 652.0.

According to this, there were 22,593 new confirmed corona cases in NRW. The number of Covid 19 deaths in the most populous state rose by 27 to 26,271.

However, the incidence does not provide a complete picture of the infection situation. Experts have been assuming for some time that there will be a large number of cases that have not been recorded by the RKI - mainly because not all infected people have a PCR test done. Only positive PCR tests count in the statistics. In addition, late registrations or transmission problems can lead to a distortion of individual daily values.
