North Rhine-Westphalia: Incidence in NRW is 338.6

Düsseldorf (dpa / lnw) - The corona incidence has increased in North Rhine-Westphalia. Within seven days, 338.6 people per 100,000 inhabitants in the federal state were proven to be infected with the corona virus, according to figures from the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) on Thursday morning. A week earlier the reading was 232.8 and four weeks earlier it was 296.9. Most recently, the health authorities in North Rhine-Westphalia reported 16,323 new infections and 29 deaths related to the corona virus within 24 hours.

Among the districts and urban districts in North Rhine-Westphalia, the incidence in the district of Euskirchen is still highest at 505.4 and lowest in Krefeld at 76.2. The city also has the lowest value in a nationwide comparison.

All in all, the information only provides an incomplete picture of the number of infections. Experts assume that the number of unreported cases is high, mainly because not all infected people have a PCR test done. Only positive PCR tests count in the statistics. In addition, late registrations or transmission problems can lead to a distortion of individual daily values.
