North Rhine-Westphalia: knife attack: suspects arrested in Romania

Duisburg (dpa / lnw) - After a knife attack at a christening ceremony in Duisburg, the two alleged perpetrators were arrested in Romania. The two 20 and 33-year-old men are to be extradited to Germany in the coming weeks for further investigations, as the Duisburg police and public prosecutor announced on Wednesday. They were arrested on Thursday around 60 kilometers from the Romanian capital Bucharest.

The alleged perpetrators are said to have fatally injured a 28-year-old with several knife wounds at a christening ceremony with around 140 guests. The victim may suffer physical impairments, the statement said. The suspects were wanted after the crime in September with a European arrest warrant for attempted homicide.
