North Rhine-Westphalia: Missing person found dead on Thyssenkrupp factory premises

Duisburg (dpa / lnw) - A 26-year-old man who has been missing since Friday was found dead on Monday evening on the Thyssenkrupp Steel Europe factory site in Duisburg. The criminal police have not received any evidence of third-party negligence during the investigation and are currently assuming an accident, said a police spokesman on Tuesday. The body of the 26-year-old is to be autopsied to clarify the cause of death.

According to the police, the dead man, who according to "WAZ" (Tuesday) cleaned traffic signs on the site on behalf of a service provider, had been missing since Friday morning. He is said to have climbed into his company car for a breakfast break. The car was found on site. But despite a major search, there was no trace of the man before his body was discovered by a factory worker early Monday evening.
