North Rhine-Westphalia: Pedelec driver falls over bridge railings

Düsseldorf (dpa / lnw) - A 66-year-old cyclist fell several meters over a bridge railing in Düsseldorf and was seriously injured. The man lost control of his pedelec on Friday evening on the Theodor-Heuss-Bridge, the police said on Sunday. He initially hit the railing and was then thrown onto the road under the bridge by the force of the impact. Several passers-by gave first aid, it said. An emergency doctor initially could not rule out the danger to life of the 66-year-old. He was taken to the hospital.
