North Rhine-Westphalia: Pedestrians are run over by a car: danger to life

Iserlohn (dpa / lnw) - A fallen pedestrian was run over by a car and critically injured. The 29-year-old was initially hit by a turning car in Iserlohn on Wednesday afternoon when he was crossing a street, the police said. He fell and was run over by another car. The man is in acute danger and was flown to a Dortmund clinic with the rescue helicopter.

The driver's license of the driver who had run over the young man after his fall was secured. A breath alcohol test in the 66-year-old was positive, and a blood sample was taken to determine if the man was drunk.

The police continued to secure traces on site in the evening. Mendener Strasse should remain closed into the night.
