Cologne (dpa / lnw) - Two drivers fled in Cologne on Sunday night when the police wanted to check them. In one case, a 31-year-old accelerated his two-seater car, but was stopped shortly thereafter when the car crashed into a traffic sign and a tree. Three occupants got into the vehicle. They were unharmed.
In the second case, a 35-year-old fled in a car that had just been stolen, but crashed into a metal box on a grass verge. After a short flight on foot, the man, who was apparently under the influence of drugs, was arrested. According to the police report, the respective drivers of the getaway vehicles were arrested.
