North Rhine-Westphalia: roof truss fire in the city center: no injuries

Düsseldorf (dpa / lnw) - The roof truss of a six-storey residential building burned in the center of Düsseldorf. The roof insulation caught fire from a previously unexplained cause, as the fire brigade announced late Tuesday evening. Nobody was injured in the fire. According to the information, five apartments were uninhabitable because extinguishing water had penetrated there and the grid company had disconnected the energy supply. In addition, an adjacent hotel was evacuated as a precaution because of the smoke. Later, the guests could return to the rooms. According to the fire department, the neighboring opera house was not affected by the fire. The fire brigade was initially unable to provide any information on the extent of the damage and the exact cause of the fire.
