North Rhine-Westphalia: sports car burns out after an accident: the driver escapes

Hennef (dpa / lnw) - On Saturday afternoon in Hennef east of Bonn after an accident, a man removed the license plate from a sports car that had caught fire and then fled. The 31-year-old was later found by the police after a search had been initiated and admitted to having been the driver of the accident vehicle, as the police announced on dpa request on Sunday. The Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger previously reported.

The fire department extinguished the vehicle. According to the information, the 31-year-old was unharmed when he arrived, but he did not have a driver's license and the sports car was not registered. According to the police, a blood sample was taken from the driver because of the suspicion of consumption of alcohol or illegal substances.
