North Rhine-Westphalia: The Münster police take stock of the G7 meeting with satisfaction

Münster (dpa/lnw) - The police in Münster took stock after the conclusion of the G7 meeting of foreign ministers. "We have achieved our goals for this mission: The police guaranteed the safety of the G7 conference and our state guests at all times and wherever they were," said Münster's police chief Alexandra Dorndorf on Friday evening. The Westphalian metropolis presented itself as a good and friendly host. The second day of the event was also peaceful and trouble-free.

On both days, the police protected a total of twelve peaceful demonstrations and gatherings with more than 3,000 participants. On Friday there were another five registered demonstrations in the city and in the port area with a total of around 750 participants. That was significantly less than expected, according to the police.
