Meschede (dpa / lnw) - A truck loaded with lamp lights burned out on the A46 near Meschede (Hochsauerlandkreis). The highway was closed for almost two hours early Monday morning due to the fire brigade's firefighting operation and the clean-up work, a police spokesman said. According to this, around 70 firefighters were on site.
The vehicle had probably caught fire due to a technical defect in the engine compartment, it was said. The truck then burned out completely. The incident happened between the freeway junctions at Wennemen and Ensten. The driver was not injured.
