North Rhine-Westphalia: truck loses tons of sand on the highway

Düsseldorf (dpa / lnw) - A huge load of sand caused long traffic jams on the Autobahn 46 between Düsseldorf and Wuppertal on Wednesday. A truck had left the roadway and overturned in the morning. The charged sand was distributed over the entire roadway, so that drivers were stuck in traffic for more than an hour at times. According to the police, it was initially unclear why the driver lost control of the truck. No other vehicles were involved in the accident.
