North Rhine-Westphalia: Two men in Düsseldorf's old town were injured by stitches

Düsseldorf (dpa / lnw) - Two men were stabbed during arguments in the night of Sunday in Düsseldorf's old town. According to the police, a 29-year-old man first appeared in the city center police station with a stab wound on his back. He reported that he and his companions clashed with a group of strangers. One of the strangers is said to have threatened with a knife and demanded that a jukebox be handed over. The group around the 29-year-old then fled. The 29-year-old only noticed the injury on the run. He was treated as an outpatient.

In the second incident in the Mannesmann-Ufer area, a 19-year-old and an 18-year-old clashed with a group of around five strangers. The 19-year-old was injured by several stitches, the 18-year-old suffered a head injury. Both were taken to the hospital and said they were not life-threatening.

There have already been several knife attacks in Düsseldorf's old town this year, even though the area was declared a no-gun zone at the end of last year.
